Privacy Policy

We collect only the information needed to operate your membership account:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture, obtained from you or from your chosen sign-in provider.
• Membership records — member ID, membership type and status, designation, employer, membership dates, and membership certificate.
• Financial records — subscription invoices, amounts, due dates, and payment status.
• Professional development records — CPE activities and hours, and event registrations.
• Technical data — basic log and usage data used to keep the Portal secure and reliable.

If you sign in with Google, we request only the basic profile and email address scopes. We receive your name, email address, and profile picture, and we use them only to authenticate you and match you to your SIA member record.

We do not request or receive access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service. We never receive or store your Google password.

SIA's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke SIA's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

• To authenticate you and give you access to your own member records.
• To display your membership status, invoices, CPE hours, and certificates.
• To process event registrations and send registration confirmations.
• To send administrative notices and portal notifications you have opted into.
• To maintain the security, integrity, and accuracy of SIA membership records.

We do not use your personal information for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it.

We share personal information only with service providers that host and operate the Portal on our behalf (application hosting and transactional email delivery), and only to the extent needed to provide the service. These providers are bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where required by Samoan law or to protect our legal rights.

Membership, invoice, and CPE records are retained for as long as you are a member and afterwards for the period required by SIA's professional and statutory record-keeping obligations. You may request deletion of your Portal account information by emailing us; we will delete what we are not legally required to retain.

The Portal is served over encrypted HTTPS connections, access is restricted to authenticated members, and each member can only view their own financial, CPE, and profile records. Administrative access is limited to authorised SIA staff.

You may access and update your profile in the Portal at any time, request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent to optional notifications, or request deletion of your account information.

The Portal is intended for SIA members and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the Portal, and the “Last updated” date above will change.
